Inaugural Draft
The draft will be conducted through MFL's email draft. But the salary of players will be posted on Proboards to ensure that people understand how the salary works throughout the process.
The inaugural Draft will use the contract CAP HIT salaries via Spotrac.com. At the time of your pick, look up the yearly salary on spotrac and that will be the players salary.
Example here:
www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/yearly/
So Larry Fitzgerals would have the salary of
Larry Fitzgerald at
10,250,000 (2014)
18,000,000 (2015)
21,250,000 (2016)
18,250,000 (2017)
15,000,000 (2018)
UFA (2019)
Drafted Players who are Free Agents or have Free Agent contracts may be retained by the team via a Franchise Tag or a Contract Extension.
This draft will be 30 rounds to suffice the starting roster. All non drafted players will immediately become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the completion of the draft.
Upon the completion of the inaugural draft Unrestricted Free Agency will open at a designated time soon after.
After the Inaugural Draft the Rookie 5 rd draft for 2014 will start at a designated time.
There will be notice for these times.
The draft order will be chosen randomly prior to the draft. The Pick Clock will be set at 24 hrs at the start of the draft but may change in the later rounds to speed it up.
The draft order will be in reverse for the 2014 rookie draft. The rookie draft WILL NOT be in snake format.
The inaugural draft will be in snake format.
Prior to the draft teams may trade all draft picks to switch spots if desired.
Example:
The buffalo Bills have the First Pick (1.1) in the Inaugural draft, but will have the last pick (1.32) in the 2013 rookie draft. From then on the rookie draft order will be based on team performance of the previous season.
For the inaugural draft teams may draft players who are currently restricted free agents and UFA's via spotrac but will have to follow those respective rules for those players prior to the season start.
Draft Picks may be traded while on the clock, but once your pick reaches the time limit you will be skipped and can no longer trade that pick. If the pick is being voted by DOT members before the pick is out of time but exceeds the time the draft will pause until the trade is passed or vetoed. If vetoed the original team will no longer be able to trade the pick and will be given the difference in time to make that pick. If the trade is passed the gaining team of the pick will be granted an additional 8 hr period to pick if DOT members took too long to vote on the trade.
Draft Pick trades only require 3 DOT votes to pass.
Trades involving players will require 5 votes to pass.
